Item 8.01 Other Events.
On June 28, 2018, Athene Holding Ltd. (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing that Athene Life Insurance Company of New York (“ALICNY”), a subsidiary of the Company, and First Allmerica Financial Life Insurance Company (“FAFLIC”), a subsidiary of Global Atlantic Financial Group, have agreed to a consent order with the New York State Department of Financial Services (“NYSDFS”) resolving a previously disclosed examination of ALICNY by the NYSDFS relating to a group of life policies reinsured to and administered by FAFLIC and its sub-contractor, DXC Technology. The policies at issue were reinsured to FAFLIC in connection with the Company's acquisition of Aviva USA Corporation in October 2013. A copy of the press release is filed as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K and is incorporated by reference to this Item 8.01.
